Why Home Business Owners Have The Upper Hand

by Tom on June 27, 2008

One thing is certain when you own a home business: you will be your own boss. It is time consuming and you may work a lot more than with a normal day job, but once the home business is up you can be your own boss and decide over your own schedule, take vacations when you choose and work whenever you feel like it.Deciding over your own schedule is one of the most valuable things with a home business, you are no more tied down to someone elseīs schedule.

When you work for a company, you rarely have the possibility to choose anything at all.You have a fixed salary, you work from nine to five or even worse night shifts, someone else dictates exactly what you must do and when. The clientele is normally doled out by someone else, who has had it doled out to them.

When you have your own business at home, you then become the person who is in charge of clientele. Instead of taking chances on dealing with clients whom you have no compatibility, you can pick and choose. This is true even for those who have an online business. You can choose what your products are, therefore allowing you to have a more select choice of clients.

Home business owners have the upper hand also when it comes to high gas prices. They use less gas than the average worker, so they save more on money. You save a lot of time by not have to commute every single day to work and back in cars, trains and buses.Home business owners arenīt rushed by traffic or caught in time consuming traffic jams. Instead, you have a convenient 30 second commute to your computer.

In a normal day job, half of your lunch break is eaten up by driving somewhere to find food. As a home business owner you will never be late getting to work in the morning or when coming from lunch.
