Pay per click search marketing is a model of internet marketing which is used to get a lot of traffic to a website quickly, the advertiser pays the website owner (publisher) every time when an ad is clicked on.
Pay per click ads are shown on both websites that have agreed to show ads and in the search engine results.
There are currently 3 large providers of pay per click namely Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft ad Center.
When it comes to pay per click search marketing, there are a few advantages and disadvantages. If you are thinking of using pay per click in your marketing, (PPC) then it is important to know if this marketing technique is going to benefit you or not.
Advantages Of Pay Per Click Search Marketing
1.Instant traffic
You will get traffic to your website almost instantly after you have setup your account. If you can outbid your competition, you can grab a top spot on a highly visible place above the first organic search results.
2.It is flexible
As an advertiser, you are in charge of how much you are willing to pay for each click. You can set a budget for every day based on your own goals. If you notice that some days of the week are slower when it comes to searches, then you can possibly bid a little more to get a better position.
Besides setting a budget and choosing your own keywords, you can choose the language in which the ads appear and geographic location. It is simple to see how effective your campaign is thanks to the real time stats in your account.
3.Low risk
Pay Per Click search marketing is low risk, you only have to pay when someone clicks on your ad.
4.Building a brand
Building a brand online is very important and pay per click can help you do that. You are not only marketing your products or services, but your business as well.Even if someone is not clicking on your ad, they will see it and this is free exposure for you on a highly visible place.
Disadvantages Of Pay Per Click Search Marketing
1.It can be expensive
Prices for clicks have gone up and it is becoming more expensive to use this marketing method. Before you start using PPC make sure you have a well converting website to send the traffic to, otherwise you will be paying a lot of money for nothing. Many people send their traffic to a website with an email optin form on it.Visitors sign up for a free offer and this allows the advertiser contact the visitors again and again with useful information and offers.
2.Click fraud
Pay Per Click providers do their best to protect advertisers from click fraud, invalid clicks.Website owners get a share of each click and there is a possibility that dishonest website owners click their own ads in hope of generating revenue. The risk is minimal because website owners are not allowed to click on their own ads, they will be banned from the advertising network for doing so.
3.The traffic stops when you stop paying
Pay per click is a paid marketing strategy, you pay the PPC providers to show your advertisement on other peoples websites and on highly visible places on the search engines. The minute you stop paying your traffic will stop.
As I see it, pay per click search marketing is a great idea if you know exactly what you are doing and have a plan for capturing the traffic so you can contact the visitors again. If you do not have a large advertising budget, you can get a top position in the search engines for free by learning search engine optimization.Getting a top ranking in the search engines “the organic way” takes time and effort because the competition is high.

For me with PPC is the hardest part to get in profit. If I take $100 and get 200 clicks for it it is not sure I will earn $100 back promoting some product. Maybe the most profitable way is to build a list with PPC, the requirement still is the promotion and message must be very targeted.
Pay per click can work but you really need to be sure of where you target your ads. Also consider the time that you want your ads to run.
Excellent post
Personally, PPC can work but I guess building a list would make sure that profits will really come in. Also, the marketer should know here to target his or her ad to generate more clicks from interested people.
Great post!

Yes, so true. All the benefits stop when you stop paying. So I’m getting my traffic in a conventional way or let me say the natural way. I’m not fond of paid ads to get traffic, doing link building for a long term result is a good investment.
Tom i also want to try PPC to advertise my business but i am not sure whether i would be able to make up or i will mess all the things.
PPC really work in my case, it is very beneficial without any effort….so out there dont worry and try this out.
