We all see commercials on TV every single day, but have you ever thought that you can use the same principles when it comes to marketing your website? Here is a few marketing lessons I have learned from watching TV commercials.
1.TV commercials do their best in getting your attention right away and keep you focused for as long as possible.
When it comes to marketing online, your website needs to load very quickly or people will go somewhere else.
2.TV commercials often give lots of real-life testimonials.
If you have your own product or service, it is a great idea to have real testimonials on the sales page because it gives more credibility.
3.TV commercials often use celebrities to endorse the products because it grabs people´s attention.
When marketing online, start posting videos on YouTube and other video sites and make yourself the celebrity. This is how today´s well-known internet marketing “guru´s” have become so famous.
4.TV commercials give an irresistible offer.
Offer a payment plan for your products and services or give a $1 7 day trial period.Make it as easy as possible to buy and join.
5.TV commercials give a very strong call to action.
People often put off things instead of doing something right now. When marketing online you need a strong call to action. This trigger to take action right away can be a limited number of products, a special bonus, a discount that expires and so on.
6.TV commercials sell on continuity, one sale that results in multiple charges.
Monthly membership sites are really popular when it comes to internet marketing.Instead of getting lots of new customers all the time you can setup a membership site and charge them monthly until they cancel their membership. Are there any current offerings you could turn into a monthly membership? (Read: How to start a membership site in 48 hours or less.)
7.TV commercial repeat themselves again and again.
When it comes to online marketing it takes an average of 7 times for someone to see or hear your message before they will even consider buying what you have to offer.By repeating your offer over and over again you make your products and services familiar with your prospects, this leads to sales!

Hi
I came over to your site after seeing your post on Mitch’s blog. You make same salient points here and obviously know a bit about marketing. I have just started blogging and so haven’t begun to monetize my blog yet but will certainly be looking at some of the tips you have given.
I am not really techie minded so although I love writing for my blog; soon as someone suggests something techie like uploading videos to YouTube I do freak out a bit. I know for Gen X and Gen Y this is no problem but as an older baby boomer I find this stuff challenging. Still heaps to learn but I am finding as I get to know more of the blogging community I am getting so much encouragement and support that I know I will continue and get a successful home business up and running very soon.

Hi Patricia, thanks for commenting.
This tips are really good. But it is so hard to use it. Why? Because we are so lazy. That is wrong
Hi Tom, I sometimes wonder about the testimonials you see on TV, especially ones promoted by celebrities. Most people would have to realize that they’ve been paid to say it and many probably haven’t even tried it. Still, the fact that multitudes fall for it make it all worthwhile for the advertiser.
Having said that I have to agree with you that you probably could learn a trick or two by studying how those commercials are done.
Hi Sire, thanks for stopping by! The testimonials on TV is probably paid, there is no way everything that is sold is so special and great. However, the same is with some internet marketing products.Testimonials make them more believable.
I agree with Tom completely on how you can take lessons from TV commercials to match your website. If the idea is to reach public and get them to use your product, then TV commercials take the first slot. Working on the same principles you can tune your website to get maximum benefits.
