Increase Adsense Revenue With Less Ads

by Tom on November 17, 2009

You can increase your Adsense revenue with less ads, and I will tell you why I believe it is true. With Adsense, you have the possibility to put 3 Adsense units on each page of your blog.

Advertisers bid on keywords closely related to your content and the higher the bid is, the better is the chance that these ads will appear on your blog.

The Adsense ad that pays the best is always first. With more ads you will also allow people who bid less, appear on your blog.Even though you might get a few more clicks with more ads, the ads will only pay you very little.By having only 1 or max 2 ad blocks on every page, you will get paid the maximum amount for each click.

If you are worried about losing money by making this change, place an affiliate ad banner on your blog and try to boost your opt in email list sign ups to have more income streams. If this does not work for you, you can always change it back.See how it goes for a couple of weeks.

These bloggers are discussing about why less Adsense ads can mean more revenue.Leave a comment below and tell me what you think about this theory!

The theory that more money can be earned with less adsense ads is somewhat unreasonable. less adsense ads will result in lesser clicks and as you lose clicks you will lose money. the only way to compromise your ctr loss would be to …

I think displaying the ads below the post title can increase adsense revenue since the visibility of the ad gets better.

That is a wise tips. Putting lot of ads might be over whelming to your visitors and will just leave your website without any clicks done. So it is also nice to put just enough ads to your pages.

The key to earning an income with Google Adsense is to have your ads match the rest of the site, making them look like part of your blog contents

nice blog you got here, having too many ads would prob scare people of the page so not having loads would be best

Somehow adsense ads tick people off because they know you’re getting paid if you click it but other people get a lot of income from adsense so I guess it’s really a case to case basis. Maybe if you put in on your blog and make it look like it’s a part of your blog then I think it would be better.

Hi Andrew, thanks for commenting.Yes, people are aware that these are paid ads and that the publisher gets paid if someone clicks on them.I see the Google Adsense ads more as content instead of advertising because the ads are relevant to the content.

Selecting keywords that would match your site or that is closely related to your blog would generate possible clicks. More related keywords posted on other blogs would generate a good traffic and more clicks thus generates good income.

This is something that I really want to experiment… I’m thinking of putting just a single ad block located below the post title and another one in the header. I have to add something, though seems out of topic — I think the lesser ads you display on posts also gives you better SEO.
