Thank you, Tom, for your article about starting a work at home business. Planning is an essential part of setting up a home based business. The business niche needs to be something you are passionate about. That ‘passion factor’ increases dramatically the chances of success. That can not be emphasized enough.

Those are some great points and think the passion resonates the furthest with me. Another thing that I think many people need is persistence and perseverance too because you need to be prepared to handle some rough times along the way.

I think the biggest issue with any home business is time management. Time is finite and without a good way to manage time, your home business may be screwed before it even sets off. Like your article states, it is also a matter of passion. Mostly everyone goes through dry/no profit periods. If you are not passionate about your work you are more likely to quit. Great article.

I agree with you. In any bussines endeavor we must choose the one that we are passionate about. Otherwise, we will never stay long with it. :-)

I partly work from home and really enjoy it. I have a youngster so it sometimes poses some problems when talking to clients, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

By the way, we also use Keywordluv and commentluv on my blog so I totally support your post requirements. It seems to attract a lot of irrelevant comments.

Working at home requires hard work and self discipline. Since you own your time, you need to manage your schedule well and avoid any distractions so that you can focus with your work.
