How To Get Your Online Home Business Site Noticed Quickly

by Tom on March 13, 2010

I received a question from a blog reader asking the following: “How do I get my online home business site noticed without spending a lot of time and money on marketing?” I think this is a valid question, so here is what I do. (Click here to ask me a question)

Personally, I build a new niche blog regularly and the blog usually gets noticed by the search engines within 48 hours of building the blog. The search engines are constantly looking for quality information so the easiest way to get the search engines attention is to visit a high traffic blog in the same niche and leaving a constructive comment.

When Google crawls the high traffic blog the next time, my new blog gets noticed and indexed shortly after. When you have your site indexed by Google, all other search engines are going to find you as well.

After your home business site is noticed and indexed you need to write quality content regularly so the search engines will start crawling your site and your content begins to turn up in search results. This is a process that takes time but will give you organic long term traffic that will never stop unless you quit paying for your domain name and webhosting.

For quick traffic, the best way to go in my opinion is to start using social media sites.Submitting your blog post manually to dozens of high traffic social sites takes a lot of time, so I recommend using a free service called Onlywire.com.Social media sites are not meant for marketing, so be sure to visit other blogs in your niche and leave comments on them and submit their posts to social sites as well. This way you will get links from other blogs and social sites will not ban you for self promotion.

Another fairly inexpensive way that’s getting a lot of buzz lately is Youtube buying. Basically, you find a video related to your website, keyword or niche with lots of views. What’s considered a lot of views depends on how long the video has been available so pay attention to that. Next, contact the owner of that video and say you liked their content and would like to make a donation. In exchange ask them if you could put a link to your website in the video’s description for a week, month. This will vary depending on your donation. If they accept then bam, tons of targeted visitors to your site.

Actually this method have been is use for quite some time now. It’s talked more lately, because of George Brown launching his Traffic Ultimatum. But finding a video with lots of views, which is not made or bought by another marketer and a matching offer to that video is not so easy an more as it used to be.

As for indexing, there are various ways, to get your site indexed fast, but I like to use document sharing sites for this.
