I have bought a couple of expired domains. Mainly just for page rank to give a new blog a bit of a head start. But it is pretty hard to find decent expired domains.

Hey Tom, thanks for commenting.You are right, it can be quite time consuming finding an expired domain name that you can use.The name has to make sense, it needs often to be a .com or .net domain.

I have not purchased expired domain names till now but I think it is prudent to purchase those which you felt like you had missed out on.
I can see the point you have made,this is a great way to have that domain which you felt like most suited for your needs but was already taken by someone !
