You need to manage your time really well if you are a home business owner. No need to buy any “secrets of proper time management books”, all you need to do is follow my best home business time management tips, and you will get a lot more done.
Time Management Tip #1:
Make a “to do list” of things you need to do.Having a list helps you avoid distractions. Before making your “to do list” you have to realize that the list will never work if you won’t back it up with discipline.
Time Management Tip #2:
Change your “bad habits”.Are you watching too much TV or have other forms of leisure when you should be working? Set up working hours for your self and stick to your schedule.Personally, I work from 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, just like I would in a offline day job.
Time Management Tip #3:
Prioritize. What is top priority for the day that you must do? This is something you need to attend to first. For me, top priority is to make a blog post every day because my readers are expecting it.Prioritizing also helps you to finish on time when you use it in conjunction with your “to-do list ” list.
Time Management Tip #4:
Learn to say “NO!”.You are at home all day, so you must have time to do chores during the day as well, right? No.Even if you are at home all day you are working. You can do whatever you want when you have completed your daily “to do list”.If you plan to go out in the middle of the day, you need to plan ahead so you get everything done.
Time Management Tip #5:
Keep your workplace clean and organized.Keeping things organized improves your over-all efficiency and if the workplace is a mess, it is hard to look for things underneath the pile.It can take hours to find a lost paper on a cluttered pile.
Time Management Tip #6:
Set realistic goals for your self.Setting goals motivates you to do your job well.I have written down my goals and keep them above my computer so I can see them all the time. This tip is perhaps the most important, it pushes you forward.
