As a home business owner working at home all day, I have noticed how easy it is to get distracted by other things which have nothing to do with marketing.
While surfing on the internet it is too easy reading magazines or playing online games when you really should concentrate on one thing, marketing your website.
To be able to work more efficiently, you need a [Tag-Ice]marketing schedule[/Tag-Ice].If you have been working online for a little bit longer you have an idea of what marketing methods you like, what gives the results you are looking for, and how long it takes to do the tasks. This means that you have tried every marketing method out there to know what you feel comfortable working with.
It is not necessary to use every marketing method invented to have a highly successful site.
Write down every marketing task on paper (or on notepad on the computer) and divide it into how many working days per week you have.
This is the marketing schedule I follow at the moment:
Monday: A new blog post, making 10 relevant and useful comments on blogs and forums.
Tuesday: A new blog post.Social media marketing, going out to blogs and look for interesting and useful stuff to send to social sites.
Wednesday: A new blog post, making 10 relevant and useful comments on blogs and forums.
Thursday: Research day, researching for hot topics to write about.10 comments on blogs and 10 forum posts.Sometimes also a new blog post.
Friday: A new blog post, 10 comments on blogs and 10 forum posts.
Saturday and Sunday: I work if I feel like working.
I only use blogging, blog commenting, forum marketing and social media marketing to build my business.
This is all it takes, but before I understood this I was slaving away with everything from PPC to traffic exchanges.
This schedule is a result of trial and error.Itīs working for me, but I believe every marketer needs to find their own schedule that they follow. After all, you need to do what works and be persistent.
What kind of marketing schedule do you have, or do you plan your working day at all?

Because of too much information in the web, i learned to focus on something and try to become expert on it. It is the only way to success.
Thanks for commenting.Yes, if you try to do too many tasks at once, you will not become successful.A marketing schedule is very helpful.
Tom – nice site and read. I too am following a similar schedule trying to build some organic traffic around a few companies I am involved with. Would love to get you as a guest post(er) on one of our blogs one day and feel free to check out what we’re up to on our blogs, although nothing as well done as yours.

Hi Chris! you can guest post whenever you like.Click on “guest posting” at the top of the blog and submit.
I get distracted 23/7. Literally! So, one hour a day for me to get things done.
Schedules doesn’t help me much, actually, I just blow them off.
Now that I think about it while typing this… I’m being distracted right now!
Thanks for remind me with this post… in a funny ironic way. Hahaha!
Hi Tom,
As I am new to blogging I find it hard to make a schedule because I have read around 150 pdfs and maybe 25 hard copies all about Internet marketing in the past 3 months, so I want to try all the techniques that I read about.
Cheers, amr

This is very helpful. I’m trying to create something like this myself so I can be consistent and help my clients to do the same. It can really be overwhelming if you try to do everything at once. I like the idea of mastering one thing and then adding on later, but I probably won’t be that patient…
Hi Michelle, thanks for stopping by.Having a marketing schedule makes it easier. There is no point in trying to do everything at once,
Very useful post. I never usually write a schedule before I work, but I find myself getting distracted very easily during the day. I like your daily schedule a lot. I am definitely going to implement something similar for my day.
