Split Testing and Rotating Offers in Tracking202
Since I made the “PPV Landing Page Rotation” post a few days ago, quite a few people had asked me how to go about doing offer rotation as well.As usual, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’m going to show you the “right” way to do this. By doing it right, we are going to preserve all of Tracking202’s trackyness. However, doing shit right always takes more time. A fantastic resource that will teach you all about split testing and giv you a great start in marketing is Scientific Advertising by Caude Hopkins. He is the grandad of advertising yet many profesional marketers have never read his book. It is so old that it is now in the public domain. Search around the internet and you will find a PDF copy for free. Read it – it’ll be worthwhile.
Kind regards, John
I use a lot of Pay Per Click when doing my split testing. Just run two ads for both copies and see which one converts the best.
Split testing is one efficient method in testing your conversion rates. I remember a friend who got so lucky by implementing the right thing which he inferred from his split test and a/b test results. I have been struggling to learn the fundamental concept behind it so that I can come up with some sort of application which is innovative and provides an over all cost effective solution for newly launched websites.
Why split test? Here’s why – Recall the 80/20 rule.
If 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts – that means the opposite is also true – 20% of your results comes from a WHOPPING 80% of your efforts.
So, with split testing you can refine your efforts so that you figure out your 20% effort producing 80% results way of running your campaign, designing your landing pages, etc.
By the way – it works for everything in life, including traffic generation. Check out Traffic Ultimatum and you’ll see what I mean.
