Are You A Good Blogger?

ADVERTISEMENTS

by Tom

How can you tell if you are a [Tag-Tec]good blogger[/Tag-Tec] or a bad blogger? There are two types of bloggers, those who blog just for fun and donīt think about money, and those who blog for money. There is nothing wrong in having advertising on a blog because relevant advertising can help your readers find what they are looking for.

A bad blogger thinks only about money and do not care about the readers which is a typical mistake. You can tell by looking at the blog because there are more advertising than helpful and useful content. Some bloggers donīt even bother to put relevant ads on their blogs, there can be any sort of ads just as long they are high paying ads.

When a new visitor comes to a blog, he or she evaluates the blogs credibility in a few seconds. If your blog is full of advertising and blinking banners they will think you are just there to sell them something and leave.People come to blogs looking for information, not to buy something.Less advertising and more high quality content will increase the credibility of your blog and people are going to spend more time on it.

Start thinking from the blog visitors view.Do you enjoy visiting a blog that is full of ads and nothing else? Probably not. If you can be unique and offer real benefits to your visitors you are building a profitable blog. This is can not be done in a matter of days, it will take years. That is the case with a normal education as well.

Here are a few characteristics of good blogger vs. bad blogger:

Good blogger:

  • Writes content that is interesting and helpful.
  • Has a passion for what they do.
  • Recommends products or services they believe are useful for the visitors.
  • Will have long term success thanks to loyal readers.
  • Puts time and effort into building a successful blog.

Bad blogger:

  • Only thinks about money and profit.
  • Thinks about how to get visitors to click on their ads.
  • Recommends products that gives the highest pay outs and are not helpful.
  • Will not be successful because people are not coming back.

Your points about blogging are spot on. I would agree it’s about the value of the content you provide for your readers. Information you share should be helpful to the reader. Plus, it will keep your reader on your site longer. The whole idea is to keep the reader/visitor engaged and become to trust you. Most will see through or quickly exit your site if not.

You’ve got some good articles here.

Hi Carter, thanks for commenting.Your ad revenue will depend on many things like what kind of traffic you get (you need targeted traffic), what your blog looks like, the kind of content you have on your blog, what kind of advertising you have on your blog, where the ads are placed…

Basically, you want to build traffic to your blog by writing new content regularly. When your traffic rises, you need to test what works best for you.

Yup! i agree with you in fact myself working as a SEO specialist but apart from this i am also interested in writing and i use to put my skills through the blog writing. Its just my interest in writing and i don’t think about both money and fun, just want to grab extra knowledge in interested subjects.

I agree with your post.

you see too many people focus on the money these days. Ultimately the people that do earn money from blogging have done so because their blog has been created for the reader hence the reader keeps coming back!

keep up the good work!

You have made some very good points. I am somewhere between being a good blogger and a bad blogger. While I try to provide my readers with decent information, I do want to make a few bucks. I think there can be a happy medium – just stay in touch with your readers and give them what they want.
