10 Ways Your Ad Copy Impacts Your Visitors

The appearance of your ad copy can increase your sales or decrease them. The text size, color, font and style can easily affect the buying decision of your reader and how long he/she actually stays on your sales page. Here are 10 ways your ad copy impacts your visitors.

1.Make it as easy as possible for your visitors to read the ad copy. There is a reason why paper is white and pens have black or blue ink in them, it is easy to read. Avoid using light yellow text on a white back ground or similar. It may look good but it is very difficult to read.

2.Try to create a mood for the visitor.Red is the color for excitement, yellow is for being alert and green is for creating greed.

3.Use headlines to grab attention. You have probably seen headlines with big red letters, they grab attention and pulls the visitor to read the rest of the ad copy.

4.Emphasize phrases and keywords that are important to your visitors by highlighting them. Keywords like free, new and instant download are often highlighted with a yellow back ground color. You can also highlight the keywords by using different fonts, bold and underlining.

5.Headlines and subheadings are in larger text, when the rest of the ad copy is in smaller text.

6.NEVER USE ALL CAPS IN YOUR AD COPY! This looks unprofessional and is very hard to read.

7.Use a text font that relates to the product or service you are selling.Fonts like verdana and arial are often used in ad copy.Another reason why these fonts are used is because all web browsers can read them.If you use a special font it may be that some browsers are unable to read them and you would lose out on a possible sale.Again, keep it simple!

8.Use a lot of space in your ad copy.Use bullets to show the key benefits of the product or service you are selling.

9.Check your spelling and grammar before uploading your site.It is also a good idea to let someone else read it,you may get some useful pointers and ideas for improvement.

10.Create urgency! If you tell your readers they can come back in one years time to buy your product, how many would return? You must use some kind of urgency to create a feeling that they need to get your product immediately before it is gone forever.

Sometimes the ugliest copy wins. Also use bullets and make sure all of your headings cover your main selling points as many people only read the headlines.

Finally don’t put the price right at the bottom as some people scroll straight there without reading the copy

I’ve also found the choice of words to be very important in ad copy as well… Certain use of words draw excitement and holds the readers attention, such as Discover,Amazing,Secrets,And Free. Also if your writing a sales letter good choice of words can be very powerful as well. Instead of using simple terms and lingo like “Free Internet Marketing Report” It Could Be “Free And Exclusive Ninja Mastery Report”!!! lol Just an example. I think article titles such as “Top 5″ “Top 10″ are extremely good at grabbing people attention and getting them to click through to your copy as it can be skim read and is appealing to people who haven’t got a lot of time or a looking for specific advice.

In addition, they are pretty easy to write which is good for the time poor…!

benefits benefits people, hook right into the pain and just start ploughing into why your offer is the best and beats out the others, if your product doesn’t do that or have an angle that makes it the best then you need a new product.
