In online marketing, the key is your blog. You are writing good content regularly and are increasing the traffic coming in month after month. But what happens when people arrive at your blog? First time visitors will judge you by how your blog looks. There is no point in spending a lot of time, effort and money on building and marketing your blog if the visitors will not stay long enough to read your content or sign up for your newsletter.

Here are some simple tips to make your blog user friendly.

1.People are very impatient online, make sure your blog loads in 5 seconds or less by adding more text and removing some heavy graphics.

2.Make it as easy as possible to navigate around your blog.Visitors appreciate when they quickly and easily can find what they are looking for.

3.Black text on a white background is the best combination for reading.Pink text on a green background may look nice, but it is very hard to read.

4.Pop-ups are annoying, but they are very effective. If you have something of high value to offer your visitors, why not use them.

5.Be careful with the advertising. It may be tempting to put a lot of banners and other kinds of advertising on your blog.People are coming to your blog to find information, not to look at a blog full of advertising. It is important to find the correct balance, less is more.

6.Have a contact page on your blog so visitors has a way to get in touch with you.It does not have to be anything fancy, a standard contact form is fine. When someone contacts you, be sure to reply as soon as possible.

7.Ask people what they think! When visitors come to your blog ask them what kind of content they like to read. This can easily be done by conducting a poll.

What do you think? Leave a comment.

I agree with number 5. People usually look at blogs to read information from experts, not to have ads shoved down their throats. The income will come after you presented yourself as an expert once you point them to the solution to their problems.
