5 WordPress Plugins Worth Downloading

The number of plugins you can download to your WordPress account is staggering – there is literally something for just about everything imaginable.

And while some are worth looking into, others are just fluff plugins that you’ll never really end up using.

If you download the right ones though they can take blogging from one level of awesome to the next.

So when you’re in the market for some new plugins take a look at these:

1.Broken Link Checker

Broken link checker WordPress plugin

You probably have hundreds of links riddled throughout your blog, directing readers to one site or the next. However unless you go through and click on them one by one you probably have no idea if they’re still functioning or not – and if they’re not functioning it’s kind of pointless to have them, right? With the Broken Link Checker plugin you’ll get an alert letting you know as soon as a link goes down so that you can quickly go in and fix it or remove it, keeping everything working smoothly and staying up to date.

2.MobilePress
Because more and more people are accessing their favorite websites and blogs from their phone it’s important to have a plugin that you will make your site mobile-friendly. This plugin does just that by configuring your blog to open in a friendly format on any mobile device.

3.Akismet

Akismet WordPress plugin

WordPress sites come with this plugin almost loaded on your site. The catch is that you have to manually go in and set it up. However it is definitely worth your time to set it up. Akismet monitors all incoming comments, quarantines the ones that are spam, and flags the questionable ones for your review. And when you get hundreds of spam comments a day that makes this plugin a gem.

4.All in One SEO Pack
SEO is one of the most important parts of driving traffic to your blog. This plugin helps you maximize your SEO efforts with no extra work from you, making it easier for new readers to land on your content through searches done on search engines.

5.Jetpack for WordPress

Jetpack WordPress plugin

WordPress.org users should download Jetpack for WordPress IMMEDIATELY. You’ll have to create a WordPress.com account but only to download the plugin and load it onto your WordPress.org site. This plugin helps simplify all the important things you need to know, such as your site stats.

Downloading these plugins will make your WordPress experience a thousand times better than it already is… and considering WordPress is already a fantastic blogging platform that’s saying something! Give them a try, you won’t regret it.

Akismet for security is really worth downloading! I’m gonna try to get those in your list specially the broken link. Thanks! I’m really fond of WP, it’s very easy to navigate and the fact that it is also SEO friendly.

Thank you for the detailed reviews, they are indeed the most worth downloading plugins, but i would like to add SeoPressor to the list, it will be a great help to OnPage SEO if installed. Along with All-in-one Seo Pack, this is my most favourite plugin.

Love your suggestions. #1 – need to get broken link checker. Sounds like a must. The same for #2, for your stated reasons. #3 – not ever used Akismet, not sure why I’ve chosen not to. #4 Used to use this, but now use Yoast SEO and #5 Have JetPack installed, really like some of that. Good list. The way I use WP, I also like “Exclude Pages.” Cool plugin.
