Keywords which are used to develop your site, determine the click through rate. Search engines display the possible results for the keywords typed in by the user. To rank your site in these searches requires extensive use of rich keywords, just a mere good article will not do the job.
Optimizing the title tags being one of many options to achieve this target, placing noticeable keywords with correct arrangement will ensure getting a better click rate. The title should be configured in a way such as to attract the visitors, enabling your site to get a better SERP. While writing the blog post stress on the factors that may affect SEO:
1.Optimum location:
A title helps search engine and users predict what the page is all about. Title should be top of list when considering SEO tags. Search engines generally prefer keywords to be used at the starting or the title tag. It determines a high click through rate.
2.Keyword rich tag:
To divert bulk audience to your site, combine the title with many rich keywords, search engines look for the post that possess extensive collection of rich keywords. Don’t be blind folded while writing the title tags. Try including them in the various heading tags as well. You may also include empty spaces in the title, as often searches are performed using spaces in the keywords.
3.Avoid repetition:
While writing title for the blog post, doesn’t repeat the keywords and avoid stuffing the title with unnecessary words. Search engines regard these steps as negative points; you may be penalized by decrease in the SERP. In the same manner avoid tagging multiple posts with similar tags. You may be accused of deliberately scamming the search results. Have a unique name to every page in your blog.
4.No generic keywords:
Avoid using universal keywords such as “welcome”, it makes the user have difficulty in locating or bookmarking your site. Try starting all the home page title with the name of your site; you may include that with a short description of the site.
5.Stop exceeding the limits:
Majority of search engines has set a target of 69 characters as their bench mark in the title of the web pages. But it doesn’t mean you have to include all the allocated keywords. Long title not only creates a mess but it is also difficult for your users to scan your page. Avoid using too many commas or special characters. You may include symbol like under score (_) or hyphen (-).
Learning about the importance of title tags enables your page to attain high rankings, optimizing it increases its scan ability. The bottom lines are write quality post and accompany it with researched keywords in title tags and content. The search engine regularly revolves with their policies and they might penalize if the content is not up to the search levels and a good title tag helps you to hold viewer’s attention.

These advise on title tags are indeed great especially for newbies like me. Until now I have problems with on-page SEO, thank you for the advice.
Something I see from time to time is people putting straight, comma separated, keywords in their titles tags. Much like you would put them in the meta keyword spot.
I would recommend you avoid this. It is one of those things that, if Google doesn’t hit you for it now, they will eventually. Personally I use a vertical line ( | ) to separate my keywords in the title tag.
Just a thought.
