Twitter is a free instant messaging service which allows users to send up to 140 character long messages, so called tweets, to the Twitter website. The minute you sign up for your account you are ready to start using it, there is no configurations needed.

Every Twitter user has their own profile page where these messages are written and instantly delivered to the users who have signed up to received them. You can receive updates via SMS, instant messaging, RSS or email. You can even put a Twitter module in your Squidoo lenses.

If you have a Wordpress blog there are tools you can use to make Twitter work for you even better.

By using Twitter, you can share your activities with everyone who has chosen to follow what you are up to on the web.It is free social networking at its best. Every time you update your blog or find a new interesting website you would like to share with your “followers”, just write a short 140 character message to let people know.Twitter can benefit your online business in many other ways as well. Here is an interesting article I found on Problogger. It is called “5 tips to grow your Twitter presence“.

I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about Twitter lately. I need to get on the ball and get involved : ]

    Thanks for sharing!

I’m on Twitter, but haven’t established much of a presence yet, to be honest. I’d like to say I lack the time, but to be honest, Twitter doesn’t really take that much time to use.

Do you use Twitter? If you do, you should’ve left me a link to follow – but either way, my Twitter page is http://twitter.com/herbertlui ,send me a message or start following and I’ll reciprocate.

Thanks for the post, and have a great day.
