Myspace marketing tips are useful for all online marketers because Myspace is one of the biggest social media sites in the world.

Myspace has over 250 Million registered users world wide according to Wikipedia, and growing each day. This makes Myspace a fantastic place to market your products and services.Entrepreneurs are beginning to realize the power of Myspace and are now applying this into their advertising schemes.

To get the most out of Myspace, there are a few things you need to know. Here are five Myspace marketing tips that will help you get the most out of this social media site.

1.Myspace is a social media site:
This means that you need to interact with others.Interacting with other members on Myspace gives you the chance to know your prospects.Take an interest in others and what they have to say.Do not make the mistake of sending people information about your business or you will be quickly rejected by everyone.By showing people that you care about what they have to say, they will listen to you as well.

2.Let people know who you are:
You must open up and let people know who you are, it is not enough to be interested in others.By opening up, people will be able to trust you and respect what you have to say.It is OK to talk to people about your business as well, but not all the time.Remember to keep your Myspace profile updated.

3.Never over-friend people:
You have the possibility to friend request people with a Myspace account, and this allows you to see their profile and send them messages. It is very important to have as many friends (contacts) as possible, but you must do it the right way.If you start friend requesting 300 people per day, this will be seen as spamming and you might get banned from Myspace.Keep the friend request under 25 people per day.

4.Keep your marketing about the prospect:
You should always keep your marketing about the prospect, avoid getting into features and details too much. This will only turn off the readers and it is boring as well.Instead, highlight the features that prospects will benefit from.People are always interested in why they should even bother looking at your business and web site.Ask your self the question “What´s in it for me?” When you know the answer to that question, you know what benefits you must present.

5.Maintain your Myspace blog:
Updating your Myspace blog once per week is not going to work, you must at least make one post per day to your Myspace blog. One of the biggest reasons people fail is because they can´t keep up with the work that blogging requires.Fresh content keeps people interested and coming back for more.

Thanks for the myspace business tips Tom. As I am just restarting an online & local business, I am investigating ways to use myspace and facebook to help with marketing. :)

I just created a facebook page for my business, but unfortunately, it doesn’t appear like there is a real local search function.

Yeah myspace has been working great so far. My band has had a myspace account, but it wasn’t until recently that I aggressively started adding friends, particularly friends who had musical interests that I thought would jive with our sound. But after having 150 friends for two years, I got 2,000 more in two weeks (and lots of positive comments). No one’s gonna find your site. You got to find them.

The hardest part of myspace is maintaining your blog, and you are right that keeps them interested in you and what you have to say. It seems like if you just give people a little information about yourself they feel like your friends or something

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It?s the old what goes around comes around routine.
