Great post there. I myself own my own online business and would actually like to talk to you sometime. You are absolutly correct when you state that building relationships is a vital role.
Connecting with potential clients is the best way to bring in more sales and jobs.
This is completely, and utterly true Lindstrom, but just make sure that you’re creating an on-topic relationship, rather than an off-topic one.
I’ve seen so many people try to do build a relationship with their customers, but it turns out to be an off-topic relationship, which can hurt your business even more, and make it harder to gain any profit.
For example, if you were the owner of a business that revolves around pets, than you should be aiming to create a relationship with other people who also want to talk about pets. But if you begin to start to have a conversation about gas prices, and that’s the only thing you’re talking about, you’re creating an off-topic relationship.
Hi Matthew, thanks for commenting again. This is something many online marketers don´t understand, that you need to build relationships. One of the easiest ways to do so is to join social sites and start visiting others blogs and making comments.
Nice post, Tom. I’m old enough to remember the corner grocery where the proprietor might even deliver your groceries to your home. Same with the dry cleaner and the pharmacy. That’s real relationship building, and it worked. I’m just seeing now how the Internet can re-fuel that old-time tradition. Makes me feel like a kid again! Martin
Hi Martin, thanks for stopping by.There is a good rule to follow, and it works really well in internet marketing as well.”You have to give others what they want first, and you will get everything you want!”
Nice post.
One of the things that I learned long ago, which I find hard, is to take the first step. Most people won’t do that, so if you’re not out there building your network you’re going to have a lonely blog/business.
Thanks

Tom,
I agree with you absolutely. I use my blog more than forum to build a relationship with other bloggers. That also gets me lots of backlinks too so it’s killing 2 birds with one stone. I think building a relationship through blog commenting also helps to make working in this blogosphere a little less impersonal don’t you think. I also think having more friends this way helps your learning process. BTW did you change your theme…very nice!

Thanks for stopping by Peter! I changed theme recently and it was a really good decision.I visited your blog as well and I like your theme.
I think relationships are the foundation of everything in life. I think if people can successfully build relationships outside of business, then building relationships in business should be a walk in the park. After all in the end, it is only human to human interactions.
Till then,
Kurt
Hi Kurt @ Genesis Bible, thanks for your comment.
Very well done. I would have to say that many businesses don’t build a relationship nowadays. Most are focused on building a relationships to make a sale, but they need to maintain that relationship to ensure future business from that client. Definitely a practice that has lost its importance.
