How To Turn Blog Visitors Into Loyal Readers

August 11, 2008 by Tom Lindstrom

Having a blog can be the best thing you can do for your business. There are a number of advantages to having a blog, but of course it is pointless unless you have readers.Just as it can be difficult to generate traffic to your web site, it is common to wonder how to turn blog visitors into loyal readers.

There are several things you can do to turn blog visitors into loyal readers. The first thing you must understand and learn is consistency.Nobody is going to come back if you only post once a week or once a month. You have to be committed to posting at least once a day on your own blog.

What you post has a big impact on how loyal your readers are. There is so much repetitive content on the internet that it quickly becomes monotonous and boring to read.Come up with fresh and enticing content and topics to post about. If you can consistently come up with new topics to talk about, people will be more than willing to come every day to see what you have to say.

While it is your blog and people come to hear what you have to say, allow others to post their opinions without you blasting them. You want your blog to be a friendly place for people to share their opinions and potentially develop different ideas. You would be amazed at what you can learn by stepping back and listening to others.

From there, it is up to you to come back and follow up with what they had to say. There is a difference between blasting someone for their comments and following up. If you do not agree, you can make your point politely. But make sure that someone’s comments do not go unnoticed. You want everyone to feel like they are part of the conversation.

Lastly, try to build friendships and relationships through your blog. The great thing about having a blog is you can connect with prospects and customers on a more personal level. If people respect you and gain your trust, they will be much more inclined to come back to post more.

You have the ability to build relationships, promote various products, and connect with people on a more personal level.

I also think it’s a good idea to not only post once a day, or once every 2 days, but to try and always post at the same time of day. Make it a morning thing or an evening thing. Then your readers will know when to expect new content.
