Are You Setting Realistic Goals?
July 27, 2008 by Tom Lindstrom
Being realistic when it comes to working online is a must if you have plans to become successful. There are some basic things you need to know.
First of all, do not quit your day job to pursue a work at home career.Instead, start working online part time to see how things go and to see what kinds of opportunities are available to you.In about 6 to 9 months, you should be able to make a reasonable
estimate about how much work you need to do online as part time.
In general, the earnings potential working online is huge on the internet. But, when you start working you will see that the earnings are very small in the beginning and will grow over a long time period. This is nothing to get discouraged about, it just works that way.
Things will improve if you work hard at your online work endeavors. You will also have a better attitude about working when you don´t expect to make millions by the end of the day. If you understand that working online is not getting rich quick, you’re already well on your way to working online for a decent paycheck.
Just don’t get it wrong in the beginning: it IS work. It’s work that is done online; it’s not free money.Expect to spend time and effort, and expect to get a paycheck, just like any other job you’ve held. This sense of being reasonable is what sets the success stories for working online apart from those who think that they will make it rich in no time flat and never have to work another day in their lives.Opportunities promising instant riches are one of the reasons people fail.
Setting realistic goals can be done quite easily.Take a pen and paper, start writing down exactly what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it.Keep the paper on a visible place.
For instance, if you have just joined an affiliate opportunity, write down how much you want to earn by the end of the year and do everything you can to achieve that goal.Just make sure the goal is realistic and when you achieve that goal reward yourself for a job well done!
