Tagging is one of the most important parts of creating a new blog post. Tags are short phrases and keywords that you use to describe your topic. It is also a quick and effective way to categorize your content.

Tags work like this: Every time you create a tag, a new page is created. So, if you made one new blog post and tagged it with 7 unique keywords or it means that you have created one page for the blog post and one page each for the 7 unique keywords or phrases.

Another effective strategy that I learned as far as tagging is concerned is that it’s also a good idea to tag your post using technorati tags.

This will help you so that when someone does a search for your specific tag in techorati, chances are that your posts will show up in the result.
