Mixing Family With Business - A Bad Idea?

June 17, 2008 by Tom Lindstrom

Mixing family with business does not always become a disaster. In the “real world” it can in some situations be a good idea to have family members to help you when you run your business and there are some other great benefits like family tradition, where your business goes on from generation to generation.

For instance, take a restaurant and running it with family can create a well presentable company that impresses people and creates a greater sense of trust. When you combine it with a business it can be a beautiful thing.

How about running a home based internet business and mixing it with family? Many people have no idea what a home based internet business is and it is even more difficult explaining the different marketing strategies that you do on a daily basis to keep your business running. When you work at home there is a lot of distractions that you need to deal with as well.

I have noticed that working at home makes your family think that you can adjust your schedule to what your family has to do.Taking unscheduled breaks here and there eat up a lot of the working time you need to build your business.

Can family members help you with your internet based home business, or is it something you need to do on your own? Leave a comment - get a link back to your site!
