I use a few good affiliate programs on my blog to get more income streams,I guess a lot of bloggers are doing this.Choosing the appropriate affiliate programs for your blog is not the easiest thing as there are many factors you need to consider, like what is your blog about and who is visiting your blog.

Also, the commission that you get for every product sold should not be the main reason you choose an affiliate program. The reason should be how the product or service helps your readers to solve a problem. You need to be careful what affiliate products you promote, as your reputation is on the line.

Selling quality stuff like ebooks and internet marketing products will off course increase your revenue over time. I have a separate page where I have the products that I sell, and some small banners at the side bar.It is clear and visible to my visitors that I sell quality products. Some blogs have banners and affiliate links all over their blogs but this will only make the blog look bad and will certainly not make people buying.

A good way to promote affiliate programs on your blog is to write an honest review about it.You will get more content on your blog and your readers will have more information about the product and why they should buy it.You are building your reputation as a honest blogger.

Darren Rowse at Problogger.net wrote an excellent article about this subject. Here is 10 tips for using affiliate programs on your blog.
