Generate Traffic With Web2.0

By Tom Lindstrom | Jan 6, 2008

A quite new thing on the internet are the Web2.0 sites. The idea of Web2.0 is quite simple. If you find a website that is interesting you can let others know about it as well, by adding the website as a favorite.

Digg and Stumbleupon are the best known services where people can discover and share content from anywhere on the internet, but new sites similar to these are coming up often.Generating targeted traffic by using Web2.0 techniques and strategies is free and very effective.

As a marketer, Web2.0 will provide you with new ways to get the word out about your products and services.Let´s say you have a blog about marketing and affiliate programs. Write an interesting article with a good subject and bookmark it to the different services. People can decide if your article is interesting or not by voting on it.

If people find your story interesting, you will most likely get a stampede of traffic to your website.Do not under any circumstance abuse the system. Only submit quality articles that are unique and has a point. If you post a sales letter to these services you will probably get banned.

Sometimes you can get a lot of traffic as a result that your article was liked on the services. You must have good web hosting with enough of bandwidth, as you can get thousands of visitors in a single day.If you are on free web hosting, the bandwidth will be used up quickly and you will completely miss out on the traffic you would receive. It is not wise to save money on the wrong place, if you are running a business you cannot rely on free web hosting.

Here are a few tips that I have found very useful in generating traffic with Web2.0:

1.Make your title interesting. What is in it for me? Never reveal too much in the title, just enough to raise their curiosity.

2.Make your description short but sweet. What raises your interest in the article descriptions?

3.Search around the services and see what people like to read.Analyze the articles that gets the most votes in the niche that you also write about. Is there anything you can do better?

4.Share other peoples stories on the services, and not just your own. They will do the same for you. There is an excellent software called Web2Submitter that speeds up the process a lot.

Web2.0 is so much more than just submitting articles to Digg and other services. There are tons of other techniques you an use to generate massive traffic to your website.

All the web2.0 techniques are revealed in this free e-book.

I have to say that Web 2.0 has made getting plenty of web traffic much easier.

I can get 10s of times the traffic from social networks with far less effort than it takes me to get traffic from the big Google.

Keep up the great job. I am starting to like your blog more and more.
