Many people have contacted me asking if I could write some facts about internet marketing, what it is true and what is not.So, here is 10 common misconceptions about internet marketing as I see it.
1.“You will get rich instantly”.Not true.It takes a lot of work marketing a website and there is a learning curve just like you need to study in order to get a normal day job.
2.“Only a few people will earn anything, the rest will lose their money”.You reap what you sow, if you are persistent and work every day you will eventually make money.Be prepared to make a lot of mistakes on the way.
3.“Anyone can do this.” If you treat your internet business as “your own business” that is exactly what it will be, you can be absolutely sure that just anyone cannot do what you do.Running your business takes a lot of discipline and you must be willing to learn.Most people quit when there is no instant results.
4.“Not everyone is up to it”.This is not true, you can start marketing on the internet as long as you have an open mind and are willing to do what it takes. Most people never take the first step!
5.“Internet marketing is too difficult”.Sure, everything is difficult in the beginning, but if you are determined to learn it should not be a problem for you.
6.“It will be easy”.It will get easier for every day, but you need to spend a lot of time writing, reading and most of all taking notes and learning what works and what doesnīt. It will get tedious but if you stick to it and work every day, I promise you will get results!
7.“It will only take 2 hours per day to run an internet business”.In the beginning I spent many 15 hour days in front of the computer, so this is not true.When your business grows and you learn how to automate many tasks, things will get a lot easier.
8.“Internet marketing is not a real job”.I have met many skeptic people, and those who donīt understand what it really takes to run a business online cannot simply know any better.It is a real job, and I could certainly earn my living easier by getting a 9-5 job.I would still not have it any other way, I love what I do!
9.“Money is the only reason to do internet marketing”.This is not true, at least I work for a different reason.I love to learn new things everyday and I can work whenever I feel like it.I usually get up around 10 in the morning and take the “10 second commute” to my desk.The money that I earn pays the bills and it is nice, but it is not the main reason why I do this.
10.“It takes many years to learn internet marketing”.It can take many years, or it can take only 1 year.It is a lot work and you must study everyday.Read newsletters and articles, visit forums.Most of all, learn from those who already are successful.

This is a great article and it 100% accurate. Most people do not fully understand what internet marketing really entails. This is a great place to start so business owners really know what they are in for.
Now that you have mentioned it, I guess I have to rethink and redo everything. I need to focus on something else, otherwise my misconceptions will definitely conceive into something else, and that is not what i want to happen. At least my business will not go into waste because of what i think back then was totally the opposite. Geez, i thought it was easy. Thank you very much for sharing.

Great article- I so agree about how much time you put in! I guess the difference is that you are doing it for YOU as oppossed to an employer and speaking personally- I enjoy it so much that the time literally flys by.
I agree. Internet marketing is not that easy as you think, you must have a thorough study about it. It requires more patience, positive thoughts and determination to earn money. Honestly, I currently have my own resources and gathering information about internet marketing and my heartfelt gratitude to you that I learn so many things from your post.
